BULK ANALYST

To undertake bulk analysis for the presence of asbestos in samples in accordance with legislation guidance and company procedures.

Main Duties:

  • Bulk analysis in accordance with HSG248
  • Laboratory Housekeeping
  • Entering sample data and results on electronic data system
  • Participation in external AIMS Scheme
  • Timely monthly quality control checks
  • Monthly reporting of exposure record
  • Monthly reporting of RPE inspections
  • Ensuring all equipment is calibrated
  • Assisting the Technical department in calibration of site equipment
  • Minor equipment repair
  • Stock control of laboratory consumables
  • Completion of certificates that are legible in accordance with guidance and company procedure.
  • Comply with quality manual / procedures
  • Comply with Health and Safety procedures

Knowledge and Experience

  • P401 Certificate
  • 3 months experience of bulk identification
  • Homogeneity of ACMs
  • Uses of ACMs in Buildings
  • Demonstrate understanding of RGA and Quality Manuals
  • Previous experience essential
  • Demonstrate understanding of legislation and Quality Manual
  • To work with discretion and impartiality

Desirable:

  • IT knowledge and skills
  • Must undergo Colour Blindness Test

Life Environmental Services requires experienced analysts to undertake air monitoring and four-stage clearance testing in accordance with legislation guidance and company procedures.

Main Duties:

  • Air sampling
  • Fibre counting
  • Undertake four-stage clearance inspection
  • Undertake clearance air testing
  • Undertake reassurance monitoring
  • Undertake personal monitoring
  • Project management
  • Monthly quality control checks
  • Monthly reporting of exposure record
  • Monthly reporting of RPE inspections
  • Ensuring all equipment is calibrated
  • Completion of certificates in accordance with guidance and company procedure.
  • Comply with quality manual/procedures
  • Comply with health and safety procedures.

Knowledge and Experience

  • P403 certificate
  • P404 certificate
  • 3 months experience of air sampling, testing and four-stage clearance.

SURVEYORS

Life Environmental require experiences Surveyors to inspect buildings for asbestos in accordance with legislation, guidance and company procedures.

Main Duties:

  • Building inspection management and refurbishment/demolition surveys
  • Complete monthly exposure sheets
  • Monthly reporting of RPE inspections
  • Maintenance of tool kit to specified level detailed in HSG264
  • Sampling in accordance with HSG264 and Quality Manual
  • Record data accurately on tracker via PDA
  • Record sample information on sample bags and sample labels
  • Record sample data and extent onto plans
  • Check plans against PDA data and sample bags
  • Ensure all samples taken are given to the laboratory for analysis
  • Upload PDA data daily
  • Check all locations are photographed
  • Download photographs onto to server
  • Check report accuracy
  • Comply with the health and safety procedures
  • Comply with procedures in accordance to quality manual.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • P402 certificate
  • 6 working months experience essential.
